When kids get sick or hurt, most parents rush to whatever hospital or Urgent care center is closest. Studies show 89% of pediatric emergency department visits occur in non–children’s hospitals.
But non-children’s hospitals are designed to take care of non-children. Most don’t have the expertise, protocols or even equipment to safely and effectively take care of children. Only 6% of adult hospitals have all the recommended equipment to take care of kids.
The truth is, kids aren’t just small adults. Their bodies and minds are incredibly different than ours. So they need incredibly different care. We worked with Children’s Hospital Colorado to create this PSA-style campaign to make parents realize the next time they need to take their kids to the hospital, they go to the nearest children’s hospital.
